Born in Trabzon, Berka completed his high school education at Trabzon Social Sciences High School and Private Karadeniz College. He graduated from the Journalism Department at Istanbul University. He began his journalism career at the Istanbul University News Agency, participated in training programs organized by the Journalists’ Union of Turkey (TGS), and worked as a reporter and freelance journalist.
