Mehmed Salih Bedirxan earned his master's degree in History from Hacettepe University, and master’s degrees in Persian Language and History from Tahran University. He also studied Kurdish Language and Culture at Mardin Artuklu University. He started his career in journalism in 2010. Between 2014 and 2017, he worked as the Ankara and Diyarbakır reporter for Bas Daily based in Erbil, and covered the ISIS invasion of Iraq and the Iraqi Kurdistan Region between 2015 and 2017. He is now a full-time news editor for BasNews’ Kurdish service.
